Thursday. One of those days where not much code gets written, but the system runs in the background collecting data. And that data is interesting.

Analytics report fix

Small but important fix — the GA4 report for total website stats was returning wrong data. The problem? The Google Analytics API query was sending a dimension that didn't belong there. Instead of an aggregated total, it returned a breakdown by date ranges. Two lines of code, but without them the dashboard showed nonsense.

AI news monitoring — 74 articles in one day

Automated monitoring ran in the background all day. 5 digests, 74 articles from arXiv, Hacker News, TechCrunch, The Verge, and curated sources. This normally takes hours of scrolling RSS and Twitter. This way? I come to a ready overview with prioritized news.

Main trend of the day: agents are getting standardized.

The community moved from "how to build an agent" to "how to make it portable and scalable." Discussion centered on portable agents — standardized configurations (AGENTS.md, skills, tool config) instead of app-specific hacks. Agent harnesses as stable abstractions for production systems. Middleware as a layer enabling framework compatibility without major refactors.

What I learned

• Quiet days aren't wasted days — automated monitoring collects data even when you're not coding
• The agent ecosystem moved from "experiments" to standardization — portable agents and harnesses are a direction worth following
• Small analytics fixes have big impact — badly aggregated data on a dashboard is worse than no data at all
